Program Coordinator

Part-time, non-exempt position
Up to 20 hours per week, must be 18 years or older
Salary range: $12/per hour
Status: Non-exempt
Location: North Andover, Lowell, Lynn Offices

SUMMARY OF POSITION
To provide leadership and program based on the ideals of Girl Scouting, for girls and adults involved with the group.

SUPERVISORY SCOPE
None

RESPONSIBILITIES

Guides girls in planning and carrying out activities appropriate to their interests and abilities.

Encourages girl decision making and leadership.

Stimulates girls to examine and understand the values expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law and to apply these in daily behaviour.

Encourages the group to participate in wider-than-group activities.

Consults Safety-Wise and follows GSUSA and SSGSC policies and standards in conducting girl activities.

Plans with assistants how responsibilities will be shared.

Keeps parents informed of activities and of opportunities for them to provide help to the troop.

Registers the girls and adults involved with the group as members of SSGSC and GSUSA annually.

Meets periodically with the Program Specialist to review and evaluate troop progress.

Reports and discusses any problems with the Chief Operating Officer.

Participates in the recruitment of girls and adult volunteers.

Assists with the implementation of retention and outreach efforts for girl and adult members.


QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Willingness and ability to work flexible schedule and travel within the North Andover area including evenings and weekends when necessary.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.

Bilingual skills, Spanish or Khmer – highly desired.

Willingness to maintain the standards, carry out the purpose and adhere to the policies of Girl Scouts of USA, and Spar and Spindle Girl Scout Council.

Willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
